We want you to know that at HomeGuard Incorporated, we are working to promote safety first to you and your families, and to our employees. We are making every effort to help prevent the spread of the virus and we understand that our employees and company policies play an important part. You will notice we have enacted policies such as not shaking hands when we meet, less face to face meetings, and wearing protective equipment. Behind the scenes, we are cleaning and disinfecting our offices, and washing hands between stops.
During this time we are asking our employees to be extra diligent with safety measures, to not work if they are feeling ill in any way, and to self-quarantine, if they or any of their family members have been exposed to COVID-19. To limit exposure to the virus, we are asking that only if necessary, direct buyers and their Realtors attend the inspections. If the occupant is home, please remind them to keep the social distancing standard with the inspectors. We ask all parties who are not feeling well to stay home and not attend the inspections. If the owner or occupant of the house is not feeling well, is elderly or at-risk, or has been exposed to the virus, please call us and we will reschedule the inspections to a time when the occupant will not be disturbed and the structure can be safely entered. The spread of the virus has us all on high alert, but if we all work together then we can keep everyone safe.
HomeGuard Inspectors are to follow The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, (NIOSH), which have existing guidelines and combinations of recommendations and approaches to conserve respirator supply while safeguarding worker’s health during shortages in pandemic situations. All inspectors are to use an additional respirator separate from their crawlspace-subarea mask for multiple face-to-face encounters with clients, in a clean environment, (such as) the interior of the home during ( iPad summary/face-to-face ) interactions but removing the respirator (‘doffing’) after each encounter with clients. The respirator is stored in between encounters to be put on (‘donned’) again before the next encounter with clients.
